Sylvia Min McCray is a Senior Manager with Tandem Group and leads project delivery across the firm’s specializations in strategy, organization, and leadership.  Her passion is working with organizations to achieve business results by aligning key levers within the organizational system to navigate, implement, and sustain strategic change.  

Prior to Tandem Group, Sylvia was a Manager with Ernst & Young, LLP (EY) aligned to their People Advisory Services Practice and focused on Organization, Talent, and Change. She led global transformation engagements including mergers and acquisitions, operational and process change, and operating model design.  She was also a certified EY Change Experience trainer and a core member of EY’s Americas Change and People Experience solution teams. 

Prior to EY, Sylvia was a Senior Organizational Effectiveness consultant for Allstate where she supported both corporate-wide and regional initiatives centered around change management, culture transformation, macro-organization design, strategy articulation and alignment, and leadership team effectiveness.  One of her significant accomplishments was being co-founder and vice president of Intrapreneurs@Allstate (I@A). Founded in 2015, I@A is an employee resource group that organizes yearly start-up challenges involving employees across the globe to foster an ecosystem that enables intrapreneurs to thrive and accelerate innovation. 

Sylvia has worked with a broad array of clients across many industries, including wealth & asset management, property and casualty insurance, manufacturing, professional services, and pharmaceuticals.  Example clients include Morgan Stanley, Waddell & Reed, Invesco, Ford, Direct Supply, and Hospira. 

Some of Sylvia’s recent work includes partnering with the senior leadership team of a wealth management firm in the formulation of a change management strategy and roadmap for a new Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) initiative that would impact employees, clients, and investors.  She also led the change management team for a global integration of SAP Ariba for an automotive manufacturing company which transformed the source-to-contract processes.  She partnered with the business and solution design teams to develop a change management strategy and plan, inclusive of global communications, training, and the activation of a global change champion network. 

She also led the HR integration and change management teams for a global wealth and asset management firm integrating a new investment management business with a $7B transaction value.  She worked with HR senior leaders to prepare for deal close and plan for the full employee integration.  This, included facilitating target HR operating model decisions and designing a change management strategy to enable a seamless employee experience for the expected high volume of HR-driven changes.  

Sylvia earned her master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the Illinois Institute of Technology and completed her undergraduate work at the University of Illinois at Chicago in Applied Psychology and Sociology.  Sylvia has also served on the board of GOALS Youth River Expeditions.
