President & Managing Director

Deborah Brecher is Managing Director of Tandem Group. With more than 25 years in consulting, Ms. Brecher has extensive experience working with CEOs and senior executives in global companies undergoing complex business transformation and change.

 

Her areas of expertise include strategy formation and execution road mapping, diagnosing organizational performance issues, and then designing and implementing large-scale transformational journeys, organizational redesign, talent strategies, as well as senior team and leadership development and coaching. Deborah is also deeply experienced in CEO and senior leadership succession planning and talent pipeline management.

Prior to joining Tandem Group, Deborah was a Managing Director for Accenture.  As a senior leader in the North American Strategy Practice focused on Talent and Organization, Deborah co-lead both the Talent Strategy and Leadership Effectiveness practices, serving Fortune 100 companies. Before joining Accenture, Deborah was a Senior Partner for Oliver Wyman Delta, where she both co-lead the North America market and led numerous global account teams for cross-industry Fortune 500 clients.

Deborah’s industry experience includes Communications, Media and Technology companies (e.g., Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, Turner Broadcasting, Viacom, Disney, HP, Microsoft, and EMC), Healthcare and Life Sciences companies (e.g., Pfizer, Bayer, BMS, AstraZeneca, Zoetis, and City of Hope), Financial Services companies (e.g., Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, Freddie Mac, UBS, Credit Suisse, MetLife) and Transportation and Manufacturing companies (e.g., Harley Davidson, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, United Airlines).

Some of Deborah’s recent work includes projects such as supporting the CEO and senior team of an analytics company in the formulation of enterprise strategy and the roadmap for change, as well as the strategy formulation and execution of the roadmap for a large advertising company. She has led multiple enterprise-wide business transformations such as a 2-year airline transformation, preparing the business for merger. Initiatives included on-boarding the new President of the airline, assessment, selection and development of the senior team, organizational redesign, talent assessment and development of 4000 leaders, cultural redesign and on-going support of the change journey.

Deborah has also designed and developed executive leadership assessment and development processes for CEO succession projects across 10 Fortune 500 firms. For example, Deborah designed and led an enterprise-wide executive assessment and succession planning process during which 200 senior business leaders were assessed and a talent strategy was designed for a large cable/media company. She has also designed and led multi-year leadership, talent and cultural transformation programs for the technology functions for two of the world’s leading telecommunications companies.

Deborah has also partnered with Penn’s Wharton School to sponsor and address the university’s annual Leadership Forum which serves hundreds of organizational leaders. She has published various periodical articles focused on Workforce of the Future and Transforming Performance Management Practices.

Deborah holds a BS from West Chester University in History and an MA from University of Santa Monica in Psychology.  She currently resides in both Philadelphia, PA and Bozman, MD.
